The Volland Foundation
Courtney Crappell, Dean, UMKC Conservatory, Kansas City
“In the Flint Hills of Kansas, the Volland Foundation provides vibrant cultural opportunities where local lives, stories, and histories collide with world-class creativity and artistry….A visit to Volland is a different experience than seeing masterworks in city museums and enjoying the sights and sounds in the world’s greatest concert halls--it is an experience that, in my opinion, seeps deeper into the human soul as it connects with personal meaning tied to the immediately present physical and cultural landscape.”

We just love this place!!! This was our fourth or fifth stay at The Old School - and each room is unique! The hosts go above and beyond to make each stay memorable.

Keene Road Country Estate

This house is amazing! Our party of 10 enjoyed this spacious, peaceful setting while we raced Unbound Gravel in Emporia. The house has everything you could need for a large party, including plenty of beds, long dining tables, and a big refrigerator and freezer. Everything is clean and well labeled. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the front porch! The house is very close to I-70, making it easy to get to Topeka. Many thanks to our host!

Mill Creek Lodge at Volland Point
Natalie M.
“Having our wedding at Mill Creek Lodge was by far the best decision that we made! We booked it for the whole weekend which was perfect since we were able to be together with family and friends for a whole weekend. The reception night on Friday and breakfast on Sunday holds as many memories for us as the actual wedding does! I highly recommend for anyone who is looking into barn/country/rustic venues to look at Mill Creek Lodge!”
